All About Socks

| For those who love to make socks, either knit or crochet, we’ve just received a shipment of Socknado from Ancient Arts. The colours that come out of this Calgary dye studio are incredibly rich and varied. Ancient Arts uses only premium bases ethically sourced, ethically milled, and spun exclusively for them. Their yarns are ideal for knitting, crochet, weaving, and any other craft requiring a top-quality yarn. All yarns are individually hand dyed in small dye lots using environmentally conscious dyes and dyeing practices. |

What’s not to love about this look? These Pietra Pants by Closet Core are an easy make, and are very customizable. Choose between four leg styles: a wide leg in floor-skimming or cropped length, a slim and tapered leg (which is what we did here), or gently flared shorts. We used Worker Chambray for this fun red pair. I’ve also sewn up a wide-legged Pietra in Essex Yarn-Dyed, a summery 55% linen, 45% cotton blend. They are really my favourite summer pant. |

| Our stitch socials have been a great success. We were able to get together on a monthly basis, and visited Red Barn Brewing, Bayside Brewing, Sons of Kent, and Boatworks Social House. These are all great venues for crafting, chatting, and trying new drinks and treats. We’re taking a break for the summer – but don’t let that stop you from doing some social stitching when you’re out and about. We’ll be back to our regular stitch socials in September. |
